Wi-Fi HaLow in Logistics: Integrated Logistics Networking Solution.
The ongoing evolution of wireless technology has revolutionized various industries, including logistics management. Utilizing wireless barcode scanners for real-time monitoring and inventory management, or employing technologies like AGVs and AMRs for cargo handling, all depend on reliable wireless network equipment. This ensures the seamless and stable operation of the entire logistics system.
Therefore, AsiaRF conducted a “health check” on the wireless network equipment for one of the RentraPartner Logistics Co., Ltd. and proposed a more comprehensive and robust wireless network solution.
Network health check for RentraPartner Logistics
RentraPartner Logistics manages a medium-sized warehouse and logistics space spanning nearly three floors and tens of thousands of square meters. To enable personnel to use wireless barcode scanners for real-time inventory updates and ensure smooth connectivity for automated devices, a comprehensive wireless network is crucial for seamless operations throughout the entire space.
Based on this background, AsiaRF conducted a “network health check” for RentraPartner Logistics and identified the following issues:
- 1. High Infrastructure Fee:
RentraPartner Logistics currently employs conventional Wi-Fi with ten routers deployed across the entire space. However, this setup fails to provide full network coverage, necessitating the addition of more routers. To reroute and install these routers, logistics operations must be halted, resulting in increased infrastructure fees. - 2. Network Dead Zones:
Conventional Wi-Fi signals have limited coverage and poor penetration, leading to dead zones in the warehouse where devices struggle to connect. This issue results in delayed information updates. - 3. Unstable Network Signals:
RentraPartner Logistics employs a Tree Network, with a single Gateway processor and multiple routers for extension. As each device connects to a different router, the movement of personnel or AGVs can lead to signal instability. When in motion, these devices may leave the coverage area of the original router, causing them to reconnect to another router and resulting in unstable signals. This leads to reduced operational efficiency.
The above has severely impacted RentraPartner Logistics’s internal management, encompassing logistics and personnel management. Poor network connectivity not only disrupts the logistics system but also hampers personnel efficiency, potentially leading to operational standstills and inestimable losses.
Applying AsiaRF Wi-Fi HaLow Mesh Gateway to create an optimized logistics solution.
AsiaRF is actively developing Wi-Fi HaLow Mesh technology, utilizing Mesh systems in conjunction with Wi-Fi HaLow IoT devices in RentraPartner Logistics’s space. This will effectively address the following issues:
- Reducing Infrastructure and Cable Costs:
By deploying Wi-Fi HaLow across RentraPartner Logistics’s entire space and utilizing the dual-band setting of ARFHL-AP, which supports both 2.4GHz and Sub-GHz frequencies, the signal can be extended, effectively broadening network coverage. With the capability to accommodate both wired and wireless connections, there is no need for work stoppage and on-site rewiring, resulting in reduced infrastructure and cable costs. - Improving Connection Stability:
The Mesh Network system extends the network range seamlessly, creating a network environment without dead zones, thus enhancing connection stability. - Enhancing Network Coverage:
AsiaRF’s Wi-Fi HaLow ARFHL-AP combines with Wi-Fi HaLow portable gateway ARFHL-UM devices worn by personnel, maintaining a connection with Wi-Fi HaLow is possible anytime and anywhere when using wireless barcode scanners.
In summary, AsiaRF’s Wi-Fi HaLow Mesh network solution not only effectively addresses overall management issues for RentraPartner Logistics but also brings advantages such as improved staff efficiency, real-time internal communication, and accurate information transmission. This modernizes and enhances the intelligence of logistics management.
